Wow.  They really look the business.  I see that you will be running changeovers.  How do you accomplish those?  Are they automated?  I have very old machines and use Easifit changeover devices (a hand operated set of shutters which close on one machine and simultaneously open on the other) for the picture, and an RCA sound changeover (a switch which simultaneously turns off one exciterlamp and turns on the other).  I would imagine that your setup is a lot more sophisticated.

Congratulations Patrick with your new projectors!  Grin Grin Grin

Have you already tried them out?
How are the image and light output?
They look real nice even the spoolboxes look bigger than 2000 feet ones!
Can you post some more pics of them? and also from the power supplies and amps?

Again congrats!  Smiley

The changeover is done my switching a switch ontop of the projector that switches the arc and exciter off the outgoing machine and turns on the arc and exciter on the incoming machine, it is a bit crude as there is no dowser but I am sure something can be fitted for that.
The sound is very powerfull for the equipment and it is only in mono, the xenon arcs are 1kw
I have haing a bit fo trouble as the xenons keep going out after running several minutes, the exciter that is on the same circuit keeps going so I am thinking the connections in the lamphouse are not that good.

Nice pics Patrick,

Are both arcs on the same rectifier or do they have one each?
Is it always the same arc that is troubeling?
If both arcs are on separate rectifiers and one stops after a couple of minutes in function it can be a bad connection
but I think you must see sparkles on the point where the bad connection is.
It also is possible that the switch-over is having a bad contact ( or rather the relais that it must be switching)

Hi Patrick,

I hope everything is well with you after the earthquake?!

Did you find out what was wrong with the xenons?
What was causing the lamps to stop working?

Xenon.

Yes I am alive and well! my theatre business is damaged which is a shame but at least I am alive!
one of the 2 xenons that came with the projectors was faulty so the factory has sent me a new set free of charge!
Both machines are now packed away as I have had to move house and with all that is going on here with the quake I have not had a chance to run them!
