Hello, I'm new to this forum, so here goes.
Nearly a year ago, I was handed a Minolta Dynax 5. I'm so in love with it that I'm gradually moving away from digital gimmicks (which I see as a forward step). Recently, I've noticed black specs within the field of view, even without a lens attached.
I've tried gently blowing air inside the lens-mount and gently wiping the outer surfaces of lenses and the viewfinder. but the specks won't budge. Is this normal wear and tear or could it be real problem?

Thanks for any help,
                           Colin.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Since this forum is about 35mm film collecting it's not about 35mm still cameras.
But I think I have an idea what's wrong with your camera.
Even when you remove the lens from your camera you can see specks in your viewfinder. Those specks are tiny chipped of pieces of matting paint from the inside of your viewfinder that won't be noticeable on your pictures.
If you want them removed then the prism unit should be taken apart and cleaned, this must be done by a specialized technician.

Succes!
